Capture Android Phone Screens without Root

Do you have something cool on your android phone? Would you like to know how to take a screenshot of that android phone without having to break out your digital camera? If you answered yes then you are in luck! I am going to show you a step-by-step process that will allow you to Capture Android Phone Screens from the comfort of your desktop or laptop computer.

  1. Go to your computer
  2. Download the Android SDK from Google, Here.
  3. Install it to somewhere simple like C:\sdk\
  4. Go to your Android Phone
  5. Open the Menu (the one with all your apps in it)

  6. Go to ‘Settings’

    Tap the 'Settings' Icon

  7. Go to ‘Applications’

  8. Go to ‘Development’

    Tap 'Development' icon

  9. Go to ‘USB Debugging’ and make sure the box has a check in it.

    Activate 'USB Debugging' checkbox

  10. Get out your USB cable and connect your phone to your Computer
  11. On your Computer, navigate to C:\sdk\tools\ (or wherever you installed the android sdk earlier)
  12. Double-click (or right-click then hit Run) on ddms

    Doubleclick 'ddms.bat'

  13. Look for your phone in the list of connected devices

  14. Select your phone (should be the only thing in the list)
  15. Click ‘Menu’
  16. Click ‘Device’
  17. Click ‘Screen Capture’
